Comic 84 - Why weren't we warned?
I was at Nicky's last week, eating enchiladas and listening to a terrible mariachi singer croak out harsh songs while tunelessly thrashing at his guitar. He caught my eye once or twice, and I would smile out of politeness if not admiration. Encouraged, he moved a little closer with every song, until he was standing right behind me.
Before I knew it I felt an elbow lock with mine and I turned to see his toothless face inches before my own. "You have no choices", he breathed, before dragging me harshly to my feet.
The little man announced loudly to the restaurant that I was a beautiful lady just in from Las Vegas to dance the Macarena for them. Everyone cheered. My family whooped and clapped as if it were the funniest thing they'd ever seen. My sister is cool; she jumped up beside me for support. We looked at eachother and shrugged, thinking
What the hell?, and together we shook our asses for the ingrates.
Though next time I'm going to Trejo's.
Comic 83 - Suspicious
As you can see, I'm trying to do the comic again. Mondays, if at all possible. Also, trying a new coloring style. Yes, I know the old way is fancier but this is just something different and fun (and I must say far less time consuming).
I'm going to Houston tomorrow after my last final. Jeff and I are going to see Joanna Newsom, this really cool harp-playing folk singer. I am much more enthusiastic about this than the final. I will be thankful when this semester is over. Boo for pediatrics!
I'll be excited to see my friends over Christmas break. I hope I don't have to work Christmas this year. I most certainly will next year.
Comic 82 - Help Us Fulfill
A rare occasion. Should we celebrate?
You can thank ClanBOB for getting me interested in making a new one. I've been working on developing their member's comic site and felt inexplicably drawn to my sketchbook.
Please forgive the fact that that particular page still hasn't been moved to the new template yet.
I'll be studying for finals this week. Good luck, everyone, on your own endeavors.
